Roots can cause septic field failures.

Image
One thing to look out for is planting heavy rooted plants near a septic field.  This can prematurely cause failure, and a lot of damage with costly repairs.  In fast draining soils often roots will travel long distances to get access to water, a septic field is ideal as there is a regular flow of water and nutrients.  Here are some pictures of a recent field failure we had to repair.   For more information please contact us:  https://turtletankssepticsystems.com/contact/

Septic Smart

Image
Many homeowners are now realizing the importance of maintaining their septic systems.  Years ago, they would rather have forgotten there was waste water treatment center buried in their back yards.  Many never even knew where their septic tank was!  It is important to pump your system every two to five years depending on the amount of occupants, now a days effluent filters are used in the outflow pipe to prevent particles of solid matter from clogging the septic field.  With regular pumping and the effluent filter, it could extend the life of an older field and certainly add many more years to a new one. We can help with modifying an existing older septic tank with an effluent filter, ask us how today!  250-768-0056 For more information please contact us:  https://turtletankssepticsystems.com/contact/

Leaky Toilets

Image
Did you know that a leaky toilet is capable of hydraulically overloading your septic field? A leaky toilet can allow up to 50 gallons of water per day down the drain, which can eventually cause your septic field to become over saturated, and possible failure.  If you have older toilets, it may be worth checking for possible leaking, either repair or replace, it will cost you less in the long run.   For more information please contact us:  https://turtletankssepticsystems.com/contact/
